Lilly supported youth development initiatives

Minority Engineering Program of Indianapolis (MEPI): MEPI is a non-profit organization that encourages minority students to enter the career fields of engineering, information technology, and other technology related fields. Students in grades 6 through 12 become equipped with the skills to succeed in today’s high tech world and help to enhance the workforce of their community. For more information: www.mepi.org

Center for Leadership Development (CLD): It is the mission of the Center for Leadership Development to foster the advancement of minority youth in Central Indiana as future professional, business and community leaders by providing experiences that encourage personal development and educational attainment. The objective of the CLD programs include increasing awareness and competence in communication skills, exploring various career options, and identifying educational pursuits which will aid in reaching career goals. Employment opportunities for high school students

Co-op Program

Lilly recruits students from participating vocational high schools for paid, part-time, on-the-job training (OJT) opportunities. The Co-Op Program allows students to take the basic skills they have developed in school and apply them to practical experiences for a major corporation. This OJT experience not only deals with their vocation, but it also gives them opportunities to learn how to interact with others in a corporate environment.

Please contact your high school’s vocational/co-op coordinator for information.
